How to Apply for Burdwan University PG Part-II Admission 2015

1. Candidates need to login to his/her student profile.

2. Candidates need to Click on the Part-II admission button.

3. Candidates will fill-up the admission form.

  • In case of Philosophy, candidates will only select special paper which is mentioned at part-I stage. Special paper will not be changed at Part-II stage.
  • In case of Bengali, for Paper VII & VIII, candidates will select either KATHA SAHITYA or NATAK or MADHYA YUGER BANGLA SAHITYA.
  • In case of HISTORY, for Paper VII & VIII, candidates will select either ANCIENT INDIA (Group A) or Modern India (Group C).
  • In case of POLITICAL SCIENCE, for Paper VII & VIII, candidates will select either Public Administration & Local Government or International Relations.
  • In case of COMMERCE, Paper XIII & XIV are optional paper. Candidates will select for Paper XIII either Computer Application in Business-I or Enterpreneurship Development and for Paper XIV, candidates will select either Computer Application in Business-II or Information Technology & E-Commerce.

4. Candidates once click, system will generate the Bank Challan for Semester Admission and are to take print out of the Bank Challan for Online admission and deposit the requisite fees as mentioned in the challan to the nearest branch of SBI. A candidate is to log on to his/her online form once again (within 7 days of submission of application form) to insert the Journal No., Branch Code, Branch Name and Date of Deposition given by the bank on the challan. The online application will be reated incomplete withot insertion of the Journal No. given by bank after making payment of the requisite fees. Requisite fees are given below-

5. After verification of the Journal No. the candidates are requested to re-log in into the system and upload his/her signature (Black/Blue pen). After upload the signature the candidates are need to take print out of the application form.

6. Candidates need to visit the DDE Administrative Office / Study Centres with application form along with the following documents-
a. Bank Challan (University Copy)
b. Self signed Xerox of Enrolment Card
c. Self signed Xerox copy of Part I Admit Card.
d. Self signed Xerox copy of BU Registration Certificate.

7. After submitting the documents the candidates will be provided the study materials on the same day.

Eligible Criteria for Burdwan University Post Graduate Admission 2015

Only the candidates obtaining graduation degree from regular honors courses are eligible for applying Burdwan University Post Graduate Courses. Those candidates who have obtaining graduation degree from open / distance courses is not eligible.

Selection Procedure :

Based on Marks of Under Graduate :-

60% of the total intake of seats will be reserved exclusively for the pass-out candidates from the UnderGraduate Colleges affiliated to the University of Burdwan. Admission to these seats will be offered strictly on the basis of marks secured in the concerned Honours subject. In case of the uniform score in the concerned Honours Degree, the percentage of marks obtained by the candidate in Higher Secondary Examination will be considered and calculated for determining the higher position in the merit list. And if the percentage of Higher Secondary marks is also be the same, percentage of Secondary Examination will be considered for ranking.

Based on Admission Test Marks :-

40% of the total seats will be filled up through Open Admission Test. The test will be held on the basis of MCQ with negative marking. Candidates from other Universities within and outside West Bengal will have to appear in the said admission test. Candidates from the colleges under the University of Burdwan can also appear in the said admission test to vie for a better option regarding choice of centre of study. For M.Ed., M.P.Ed., Library and Information Science, Mass Communication, Biotechnology,
Environmental Sciences, Computer Science and Applications, 100% of the seats would be filled up through Open Admission Test. Please look into the Appendix-I for selection criteria of M.P.Ed.

The University also reserves all right to drop or include any name of the candidate, if any suppression of facts on the part of the students or any mistake in calculation is detected at any stage before or after the admission.

Admissions Procedure :

Only the selected candidate for various kind of merit category will be called for admissions. The selected candidate list will be called for admission based on their rank. The selected candidate will be appearing for admission in GOLAPBAG CAMPUS of THE UNIVERSITY OF BURDWAN. The selected candidate list will be available in RESULT button in Home page of the portal.

Candidate need to bring the below documents and testimonials at the time of admissions

1. Original and photocopy of mark-sheets of all public examinations passed
2. Original and photo copy of birth certificate/ admit card of Madhyamik or equivalent
examinations.
3. Original Schedule Caste / Schedule Tribes / OBC-A/ OBC-B/ Differently Abled/ Sports certificate issued in favour of the candidates.
4. Rank card, which is available in the online admission portal
5. Printed copy of Application form, which is available in the online admission portal.

Online form fill up Process :

1. Post graduate online application system is available in .

2. Kindly go through the information sheet before filling up the online application form.

3. After filling the second part of application form click on SUBMIT button, which will navigate to the profile page of candidate where candidate can view his/her information. Please note Application Code for future reference.

4. Once submit the application form candidate will receive the application code through SMS.

5. After submitting the application form, candidate has to upload his/her photo by clicking on the Upload Photo link in the profile page. Uploading the photo is mandatory otherwise the application will be treated as cancelled.

6. After submitting the application form candidate has to pay the application fees of Rs 200/- (Rupees two hundred only) through online or offline by clicking CONFIRM BANK PAYMENT link. Before making the payment, go through the payment steps and instructions available in CONFIRM BANK PAYMENT link. Keep printed copy of payment confirmation for future reference (if needed).

7. Candidate can view his/her profile page at any time through login (clicking on the LOGIN TO STUDENT PROFILE button in the home page). Enter application code as user name and password.

8. Download the ADMIT CARD for admission test which will be available only before 72 hours of admission test.

9. Once rank list is published candidate should download the Rank Card from his profile page. Printed copy of Rank card, application form and other testimonials are mandatory documents for admission.

10. A separate list will be published for selected candidates. Only the selected candidates are advised to contact with the respective department for detailed information of admission.

Payments :

Candidates are requested to pay the application fees (INR 200) after filling up the application from through online.The link for online payments is available in online portal.
