Eligible Criteria for CSIR NET Exam December 2015

Age limit: For Junior Research Fellowships (NET) maximum age limit is 28 years as on 01/07/2015 and relaxation of the upper age limit is 5 years for SC/ST/OBC/PH/Visually handicapped and female applicants. No upper age limit for Lecturers (NET).

Educational Qualification:
M.Sc or equivalent degree/ Intergrated BS-MS/BS-4 years BE/BTech/BPharma/ MBBS with 55% marks for general and OBC-Non Creamy layer candidates and 50% for SC/ST candidates, physically and Visually Handicapped candidates.

Candidates enrolled for M.Sc or having completed 10+2+3 years of the above qualifying examination 25-08-2015, are also eligible to apply in the above subject under the Result Awaited (RA) category on the condition that they complete the qualifying degree with requisite percentage of marks within the validity period of two years to avail the fellowship from the effective date of award.

BSc (Hons) or equivalent degree holders or students enrolled in Integrated MS-PhD program with at least 55% marks for general and OBC (Non Creamy layer) candidates and 50% marks for SC/ST candidates, physically and visually handicapped candidates are also eligible to apply. Candidates with bachelor’s degree, whether Science, engineering or any other discipline, will be eligible for CSIR fellowship only after getting registered/enrolled for PhD/Integrated PhD program within the validity period of two years.

PhD degree holders who have passed Master’s degree prior to 19th September 1991, with 50% marks are eligible to apply for Lectureship only.

Date and Scheme of the CSIR NET Test December 2015

The single paper MCQ based test will be held tentatively on Sunday, the 20th, December 2015 as under:-

  • 1. Life Sciences: 200 Marks
  • 2. Earth, Atmospheric, Ocean and Planetary Sciences: 200 Marks
  • 3. Mathematical Sciences: 200 Marks
  • 4. Chemical Sciences: 200 Marks
  • 5. Physical Sciences: 200 Marks

Syllabus for the CSIR NET Exam December 2015

Syllabus: The question paper divided into three parts A, B and C.

Part A: Shall be Common to all subjects including Engineering Sciences. This part contain questions pertaining to General Aptitude with emphasis on logical reasoning, graphical analysis, analytical and numerical ability, series formation, quantitative comparison, puzzles etc. In Engineering Sciences, Part ‘B’ contain questions pertaining to Mathematics & Engineering Aptitude & Part ‘C’ contain subject related multiple choice questions (MCQs), generally covering the topics in the syllabus.

And for other disciplines:

Part B: Shall contain subject-related conventional Multiple Choice questions (MCQs), generally covering the topics given in the syllabus.

Part C: Shall contain higher value questions that may test the candidate’s knowledge of scientific concepts and / or application of the scientific concepts. The questions of analytical nature where a candidate is expected to apply the scientific knowledge to arrive at the solution to the given scientific problem.

Examination Fee: Candidates are required to pay examination fee of Rs. 1000/- for general candidates, Rs. 500/- for OBC non creamy layer and rs. 250/- for SC/ST/PH or VH candidates, deposit their Examination fee in any branch of the Indian Bank throughout the country. And Srinagar and Imphal candidates may deposit their fees through RTGS or NEFT by giving particulars of the Indian Bank, as notified in the fee deposit challan.

How to apply for CSIR NET Exam December 2015

Eligible and interested candidates can apply online mode through official website of Council Of Scientific And Industrial Research (CSIR) http://www.csirhrdg.res.in. after successfully submitting application online candidates are required to take print out of the Application Form, paste his/her recent black & white photograph, put his/her signature at the required space, attach requisite certificates and send along with CSIR marked copy of fee deposited Bank Challan in an envelope super scribed with Subject Code, Centre Code & Medium Code to The Deputy Secretary (Exam), Human Resource Development Group, Examination Unit, CSIR Complex, Library Avenue, Pusa, New Delhi-110012 so as to reach on or before 03-09-2015 (10-09-2015 for remote areas).
